Só quem já teve a oportunidade de conhecer esse paraíso (porque se Deus é brasileiro, Noronha é sem dúvidas onde ele vive) saberá que cada palavra escrita aqui compreende a verdade desse lugar, localizado a 550 quilômetros de distância das costas de Pernambuco e Natal, bem no meio do Oceano Atlântico.
Desembarcar ali já é uma experiência única e um teste infalível para saber se o passageiro está apto a se entregar ao estilo de vida da ilha. Se ao avistar lá de cima do avião a pequena pista de pouso, em meio ao “mar de dentro” e ao “mar de fora”, o seu coração acelerar, um sorriso escancarado grudar no rosto e você sentir a alma ficando mais leve, parabéns, você merece estar em Fernando de Noronha!
A ansiedade também vai bater quando, no pequeno aeroporto, antes mesmo de chegar à esteira, a fila para o pagamento da Taxa de Licença Ambiental (R$ 45,60 por dia) começar a se formar. Nada demais. Tudo funciona bem e rápido, principalmente se você for esperto e já tiver feito tudo pela internet, trazendo o comprovante em mãos. A partir daí, você atravessa mais uma porta (pequena) rumo ao paraíso. Na salinha aonde as malas chegam, mal cabe tanta adrenalina de cada um dos passageiros e todas as suas bagagens, com cadeiras de praia, barracas, pranchas de surfe, equipamentos de mergulho e coolers. Aliás, outra dica importante é: sim, leve o aparato necessário para passar o dia na praia, sem economizar no peso da bagagem. E quando tudo finalmente aparecer na esteira, você estará atravessando, então, a última porta rumo aos dias naquele que muitos garantem ser o melhor lugar do mundo.
Como bom viajante disposto a ter uma perfeita lua de mel, você certamente terá se informado bem para saber que ter o próprio Bugre, alugado com antecedência (principalmente se estiver na alta temporada), é um item indispensável para curtir e viver bem em Fernando de Noronha. Caso tenha alugado o veículo direto na locadora, o representante estará lá para ensinar os truques de direção e te levar até a sua pousada, se necessário for. Outra opção é fazer o aluguel direto no hotel aonde você vai se hospedar. Dessa forma, será o próprio dono da pousada ou alguém de sua confiança que o estará esperando.
Bem-vindo a Fernando de Noronha – e agora?
E quando pela primeira vez você pegar a menor rodovia do Brasil (que corta a ilha de fora a fora e possui somente 10 quilômetros de distância), vai amar o vento oceânico batendo no rosto e logo perceberá que Noronha é pequena ao ponto de fazer você se sentir em casa em poucos minutos e grande o suficiente para te entreter durante dias e dias.
São muitos os nomes que provavelmente você já ouviu falar: Praia do Sancho (considerada a mais bonita do mundo), Praia do Leão (considerada a segunda mais bonita do Brasil), Cacimba do Padre (aquela que, para mim, é a mais especial), Mirante do Boldró (onde é possível apreciar a linda vista para a Praia do Bode), Museu do Tubarão (onde você conhecerá toda a história do predador e ainda poderá comer o delicioso bolinho de “tubalhau”), Praia da Conceição (com uma linda vista para o Morro do Pico e algumas baladinhas esporádicas na areia), Baía do Atalaia (é preciso agendar com antecedência para conseguir fazer um delicioso mergulho) e o lendário Bar do Cachorro (onde à noite se dança um forró de lavar a alma).
Mas o que fazer primeiro, como chegar, qual a ordem adequada? Em Noronha não existe ordem, basta seguir o seu coração. Daquela mesma rodovia que você terá acabado de conhecer, saem caminhos de estrada de chão e, acredite, todos te levam a algum desses lugares maravilhosos. Da Baía do Sueste, onde começa o asfalto, até o Porto, onde ele termina, você poderá avistar as plaquinhas com as respectivas indicações de praia e, a partir daí, é só virar à direita ou à esquerda e seguir em frente.
Na posse do seu Bugre você vai entender o quanto vale a pena levar o seu próprio aparato de praia. No veículo coloca-se tudo o que precisa desde o primeiro dia e só tira na hora de ir embora. Exceto o isopor ou cooler, que será reabastecido com mais frequência no supermercado. São três opções de vendas de mantimento na ilha, uma na Vila dos Remédios, a outra na Floresta Nova e mais uma (a maior) na Vila do Trinta. O legal é que certamente um desses três endereços estará bem perto de você, já que a ilha é pequena e com localizações estratégicas.
Noronha dia e noite
A noite de Noronha é quase uma extensão do dia, mas são cada vez mais e melhores as opções de restaurantes na cidade. Em alguns, é possível fazer reserva, em outros, basta chegar e, talvez, esperar um pouquinho. Sem falar na pizzaria – sempre uma boa opção e com música ao vivo, onde vários cantores famosos costumam dar uma canja se estiverem na ilha – e no festival de frutos do mar da Pousada Zé Maria, que acontece todo sábado e é sempre uma boa pedida – vale o aviso para reservar com antecedência. Sobre o “festival do Zé”, todos certamente já ouviram falar, mas sou da opinião de que só quem pode dizer se os R$ 160 pagos por pessoa são válidos ou não é você mesmo. As minhas experiências foram ótimas, exceto na noite do réveillon, mas isso é outro assunto e estamos aqui para falar de lua de mel, ocasião que, aliás, faz da pousada do Zé Maria uma das melhores opções da ilha. Romântica e com uma das mais belas vistas do lugar, é sem dúvidas um quesito que fará você flutuar de amor.
Para os casais mais aventureiros, os mergulhos em Noronha são imperdíveis, assim como as trilhas, que podem ser feitas a pé ou a cavalo. Uma delas, que leva até a Baía dos Golfinhos, é ideal que seja feita antes ainda do raiar do sol, com um guia local, caso não conheça. No ponto de chegada, será possível avistar um verdadeiro show com centenas de golfinhos-rotador se exibindo. Outro caminho interessante para tentar avistar esses mamíferos brincalhões, que, vejam só, representam o amor no mundo animal, é o barco. Nesse caso, vale colocar o seu orçamento na ponta do lápis e decidir entre seguir em uma das grandes embarcações, que saem diariamente do porto, ou alugar uma lancha particular (do tamanho de sua preferência), com marinheiro e pescador à disposição.
Como já foi dito, para quem gosta de praia, é possível passar semanas em Fernando de Noronha se o seu bolso permitir. É importante lembrar que se trata de um destino caro, até mesmo quando estamos falando do mais baixo orçamento possível – no caso, hospedar-se em algumas das dezenas de pousadas da série Golfinho, que nada mais são do que casas de nativos que se tornaram hospedagens. Elas estão cada vez mais profissionalizadas. Mesmo assim, esse é um item importante para se pedir referências. Isso porque, apesar de estarem na mesma classe e terem valores bem semelhantes (R$ 300 a diária na baixa temporada e R$ 400 na alta), elas variam muito tanto no nível de atendimento quanto na qualidade dos quartos e serviços. Porém, todas obrigatoriamente terão ar-condicionado, frigobar e água quente.

Anyone who has had the opportunity to enjoy this paradise (because if God were Brazilian, Noronha is, without doubt, where he would live) will know that each word written about it here reflects the truth about this place, located 550km off the coast of Pernambuco and Natal, right in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
To disembark there is a unique experience and a foolproof test to see if the passenger is suited to the lifestyle of the island. If, from on high, the sight of the tiny landing strip set amidst the mar de dentro and the mar de fora, sets your heart racing, a broad smile forms on your face, and you feel the soul getting lighter, congratulations, you deserve to be in Fernando de Noronha.
Anxiety also will kick in when, at the small airport before you even get to baggage carousel, the queue to pay licence fee (R$ 45,60 per day) starts to form. It’s no big deal and everything goes quickly and smoothly, especially if you’re smart enough to have already prepped everything over the internet, having just the voucher to hand. From there, you go through a (small) door towards paradise. In the lounge where the bags arrive, there is barely enough room for all the adrenaline of the passengers and their luggage, with beach chairs, tents, surfboards, scuba equipment and coolers. In fact, another important tip is: yes, take the necessary equipment to spend the day at the beach without saving on baggage weight. And when everything finally appears on the carousel, you’ll be entering the final portal towards a glorious sojourn in what many guarantee to be the best place in the world.
Like any good traveler intending to have a perfect honeymoon, you will certainly be sufficiently well-informed to know that having your own Buggy, rented in advance (especially during the high season), can be an indispensable item if your visit to Fernando de Noronha is to be enjoyable and a time well spent. If you have rented a vehicle directly from the rental company, the representative will be there to give you tips on directions or even drive you to your hotel, if necessary. Another option is to rent directly at the hotel where you will be staying. This way, it will be the owner of the pousada himself, or someone you can trust, who is waiting.
Welcome to Fernando de Noronha – so what next?
And when you take to the small highway (which stretches from one end of the island to the other and is only 10km long) for the first time, you’ll adore the ocean breeze on your face and soon realize that Noronha is small to the point of making you feel at home in a few minutes and large enough to entertain you for days on end.
There are many names that you’ve probably heard already: Praia do Sancho beach (considered to be the most beautiful in Brazil), Praia do Leão beach (considered to be the second most beautiful in Brazil), Cacimba do Padre beach (the one which for me is the most special), the Mirante do Boldró viewing point (where you can enjoy the beautiful views of the Praia do Bode beach), the Shark Museum (where you will learn the complete story of the predator and still be able to eat the delicious “tubalhau”), Praia da Conceição beach (with a beautiful view of the Morro do Pico peak, Atalaia Bay (where you need to arrive before dawn to be able to make a wonderful dive) and the legendary Bar do Cachorro (where at night you dance forró to cleanse the soul).
But what to do first, how to get there, and in what order? In Noronha there is no order, just follow your heart. From that same road you have just gotten to know, exit onto the dirt track and, believe me, everyone will get to some of these wonderful places. From Baia do Sueste, where the asphalt begins, to the port, where it terminates, you will see the signposts that indicate the respective beaches and, from there, turn right or left and drive on.
Having your own your own Buggy you’ll soon appreciate how much it’s worth taking your own beach paraphernalia. You can put everything you need in the vehicle from day one and only take out what you need when you need it. Except for the Styrofoam cooler as this, perhaps, needs refilling often at the supermarket. There are three stores on the island, one at Vila dos Remédios, one in the Floresta Nova (New Forest) and another (the largest) in the Floresta Velha (old forest). The great thing is, certainly one of these three will be close to you, since the island is small with strategic locations.
Noronha day and night
Nightime on Noronha is almost like an extension of the day but with more and better dining options in the city. At some it is possible to make a reservation but with others, you may simply arrive and perhaps wait short while. Not to mention the pizzeria which is always a good choice and has live music, where several famous singers sometimes do a turn if they happen to be on the island – and the seafood festival at Pousada Zé Maria, which happens every Saturday and is always worthwhile – but with the caveat to reserve in advance. With regard to the “festival do Zé”, of which all will certainly have heard, I’m of the opinion that the only person who can say whether or not the $ 220 per person fee was worth it, is you. My experiences have been great, except on New Year’s Eve, but that is another story and we’re here to talk about honeymoons for which, incidentally, makes the Pousada Zé Maria one of the best options on the island. Romantic and with some of the most beautiful views, it is without doubt an experience that will make you float with love.
For the more adventurous couples, diving on Noronha is not to be missed, as well as the trails which can be made on foot or on horseback. One in particular, which leads to the Baía dos Golfinhos (Bay of Dolphins), should ideally be made before sunrise with a local guide if you don’t know the route. On arrival it may be possible to see hundreds of spinner dolphins showing off their skills. Another interesting way to spot these playful mammals that, lo and behold, represent love in the animal Kingdom, is by boat. In this case it’s worth figuring out your budget and deciding between one of the large vessels that leave daily from the port, or renting a private boat (the size of your choice) with sailor and fisherman. This latter option costs R$ 800 to R$ 1,000 per day.
As has been said, for those who love the beach, you can spend weeks in Fernando de Noronha if the size of your pocketbook permits. It is important to remember that this is an expensive destination, even when we’re talking about the lowest possible budget – in this case, staying in some of the dozens of Dolphin class pousadas, which are nothing more than local houses turned into lodgings. They are becoming increasingly more professional in their approach to business. Still, it is important to seek or ask for references. This is because although they are have the same classification and have very similar prices (R$ 150 per day in the low season and R$ 300 in high), they vary greatly in both the level of service and quality of rooms. However, all will have air conditioning, fridge and hot water.
